Instead of my usual 400 words this first day of 2020, I’m going to keep it short, very short, with just one piece of advice. It happens to be a quote from army general and 34th President of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower:
“Plans are useless; planning is indispensable.”
Whether he had in mind combat or politics, the act of planning – of assessing your situation, focusing on your objectives and making a strategy to get from A to B – is the important piece. The resulting plan is made obsolete as soon as your circumstances change which is constantly. But, having made that initial plan, you’re now in a position to quickly reassess and continue moving towards your objective.
To get the most out of this New Year, make a plan and know that it will be a work in progress towards your objectives for 2020 – cheers!
