3rd Decade Secures a Grant From The Nasdaq Foundation to Further Financial Literacy in Young Adults

3rd Decade has been awarded grant funding from The Nasdaq Foundation to support free, virtual programming that delivers key financial education and pro-bono financial mentoring to low- and moderate-income young adults, ages 18-35, with an emphasis on serving women and underrepresented people of color.

This funding will support 3rd Decade’s mission to change financial futures forever by increasing program capacity and awareness, allowing the organization to impact a greater number of young people throughout the country.

“On behalf of our team at 3rd Decade, I am grateful for the support we are receiving from the Nasdaq Foundation,” said Joe’Mar Hooper, CEO of 3rd Decade. “This grant will provide pivotal support for our mission while enhancing our ability to serve the ever-growing population of young adults, specifically women, in need of financial education and guidance around the country.”

As younger generations face financial challenges such as soaring student loans, escalating living costs, rising debt, and a significant gap in financial literacy, 3rd Decade is committed to equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to tackle these issues effectively and build financially healthy lives.

3rd Decade Senior Manager of Programs & Curriculum Nikita Wolff said, “At 3rd Decade, we see firsthand the urgent need to address financial illiteracy and provide actionable support to young adults who feel increasingly helpless about their financial circumstances. We believe the 3rd Decade Program will have a profound impact on improving the financial literacy and stability of young adults, helping them overcome financial challenges and build a secure future ”
