Nina Spinelli

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT NINA:

Nina Spinelli is excited about the work of 3rd Decade and supporting financial literacy.

Nina has nearly two decades of experience working with youth in her community.  Prior to serving with 3rd Decade, she served as Director of Restorative Justice for a local NGO and served as the Coordinator with the Foster Care Review Board in the Office of Governor (South Carolina).

Nina holds her BA in Political Science from the University of South Carolina – Aiken and her Master of Public Administration from Augusta University. Nina sits on numerous boards and coalitions, including the Aiken County Suicide Coalition, Help Line, Substance Abuse Free Environment Team, Eat Smart – Move South Carolina, the South Carolina Advisory Council for Educating Students with Special Needs, Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Citizen Review Panel with the South Carolina Children’s Law Center.

Nina is a Master Adverse Childhood Experience Trainer with the South Carolina Children’s Trust and travels around the state discussing the impact of trauma on the developing child. She also serves as a Guardian-ad-Litem and advocates for safety and permanency for youth in the foster care system.

Nina is a Registered Yoga Instructor (RY-200) and Certified Health Coach (American Council on Exercise) and works to blend the worlds of her self-care world and restorative justice work.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family, including the family mascot – Darby!  Darby enjoys walks on the beach, napping and car rides!
