Kerri Lopez-Howell is the Executive Director of the Sunnyside Foundation, a 29-year-old foundation dedicated to serving students, teachers, and the entire southside community. Through her leadership, Sunnyside Foundation doubled its operating budget, built a brand new Emergency Relief Fund to pay rent and utilities for families, and was Mayor Romero’s chosen Foundation to run 1.25 million dollars for undocumented families during the COVID Crisis. Lopez-Howell is a 2019-2020 Op-Ed Fellow and an adjunct professor at the University of Arizona.
