Budgeting Investing Outside of Retirement Retirement Plans (Traditional)

Hi, I’m Joe. I’m a husband and a dad and have two amazing kiddos who are now five and three years old. Our family loves hiking, biking, camping and playing around rivers, lakes, and mountains….really just about anything outdoors!
I’ve really discovered in my 40’s how smart (and simple!) practices can help set you up for a life of financial success and a sense of freedom. I hope to inspire you to start a little earlier than I did, build those good financial habits, and realize your own version of success.

What is a book or film that changed your life? The Simple Path to Wealth by J.L. Collins. This is a perfect introduction to the philosophy of keeping personal finance simple. I think that people tend to believe that there's a gatekeeper of financial information or a process for building wealth that only a privileged few can access. That belief keeps folks on the sidelines rather than taking action. This is great read to demonstrate that anyone can take charge of their own finances.
What is a quote you like to live by? "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man" Greek philosopher Heraclitus talking about the state of perpetual change in nature and in humans.
Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them. Gus, is a lab mix who loves to hike and swim. We adopted him as a pup and he's now 10 years old. Sutton is our cat who we found all scraggly and malnourished, living in a small pipe under a bridge. Sutton is now a fat and happy boy that loves laying around the house and watching birds through the windows.
