Izzy Carnes is an Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®), Military Qualified Financial Planner® (MQFP®), and the founder of Izzy Carnes Solutions, LLC, where she provides financial coaching and counseling, operations consulting, and support for small business owners. Izzy also serves as Director of Operations at Redeployment Wealth Strategies, a financial planning firm dedicated to serving military clients. Before joining RWS, she spent 14 years as a financial counselor with a military-focused nonprofit organization. Izzy holds the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) and Military Qualified Financial Planner® (MQFP®) designations. Originally from Okinawa, Japan, she is a proud first-generation immigrant.

Izzy is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can openly explore their values while working toward their financial goals. She loves helping people set meaningful financial goals and build budgeting plans that truly fit their unique situations. She enjoys sharing practical strategies that keep clients focused, empowered, and motivated throughout their financial journey.

Get to Know Izzy

What is a social cause you feel passionately about, and why is it meaningful to you? I have a deep passion for supporting military veterans. They’ve sacrificed so much for our country, and many continue to carry both visible and invisible burdens. This cause is especially close to my heart — my husband is a veteran, and his family has served in the military for generations. Whenever possible, I want to give my time and support to serve the veteran community and show my sincere appreciation for all they’ve done.

Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them. We have two Miniature Schnauzers who rule our household. They are the center of our lives, making us laugh and happy every day.

Would you like to share a short quote about the impact you hope to make by volunteering for 3rd Decade? I want to be the kind of person I wish I’d had when I was younger. Growing up, no one in my family was financially literate or responsible, and as a young adult, I didn’t even realize financial education was something I could seek out. Looking back, I wish I’d had a mentor to teach me about saving, planning, and making informed financial choices. Now, I hope to be that mentor for others — especially those who haven’t had access to financial education — and make a meaningful impact that helps them build a stronger financial future.
