Passionate About...
Budgeting Purchase a Home Retirement Plans (Traditional)

Before transitioning into Financial Advising, I was a middle school math and science teacher. I’ve always felt a strong sense of social responsibility and stewardship to my community. This has led me to putting down roots through volunteerism, mostly focusing on parenting, children, and food insecurity. Nature also roots me to my community and I do a lot of trail walking, bicycling, and gardening. Golf tends to be part of work/life for people in financial services and it turns out I’m a terrible golfer. But, it’s another way to be outdoors and connect with people, so I keep at it. I live with my husband, two teenagers, two cats, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I dabble in all sorts of hobbies and am getting more interested in functional fitness and nutrition.

What is a social cause you feel passionately about, and why is it meaningful to you? Poverty, mental health, and educational access are causes that I pay attention to. These issues had a big impact on my growing up years and my extended family. I also see these causes overlapping with many others, so tackling them would have an uplifting effect on additional areas of human struggle.
What is a book or film that changed your life? I can't say anything has been life-changing, but "How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen" by David Brooks, has been illuminating. I have a growth-mindset and am always trying to be a better person and this book offers so much wisdom in both of those areas. I do gravitate towards non-fiction.
What is something unique you'd like us to know about you? I still love Nintendo NES games like Super Mario Bros and Tetris and play them with my children. We also are into classic table games like Risk, Sequence, Yahtzee, and Backgammon.
