What is a social cause you feel passionately about, and why is it meaningful to you?
Financial literacy is empowerment. I grew up in a small business household, where I saw firsthand how essential financial understanding was to both personal and professional success. My family’s experience taught me that financial literacy doesn’t just help you balance a checkbook—it opens doors that would otherwise stay closed. It allows people to make confident decisions, protect their dreams, and build the kind of lives they envision for themselves.
This cause is meaningful to me because I’ve seen how the lack of access to financial knowledge can hold people back, especially in communities that have historically been excluded from these conversations. Helping others gain clarity, agency, and freedom through financial education is not just part of my job—it’s part of my purpose.
What is a book or film that changed your life?
Everything is Fcked: A Book About Hope* by Mark Manson changed the way I think about hope, struggle, and the stories we tell ourselves. It’s not your typical self-help book—it’s brutally honest, intellectually provocative, and surprisingly philosophical.
What resonated with me most is how Manson reframes hope—not as blind optimism, but as something rooted in meaning and responsibility. The book challenged me to examine the emotional narratives I rely on and reminded me that discomfort and uncertainty are necessary companions on the road to growth.
In both my personal life and my work, it’s helped me approach challenges with more honesty and grit, and to hold space for nuance in conversations about progress, purpose, and change.
What is something unique you'd like us to know about you?
"I’m a financial planner with visible tattoos, a scuba diving certification, and a cat who regularly crashes my Zoom meetings. I don’t just talk about alignment—I live it. Whether it’s underwater, on a trail, or in a client meeting, I bring my full self to every space I enter.
What makes me unique isn’t just that I blend the personal and professional—it’s that I do so with intention. I believe that you can be deeply strategic and deeply human at the same time. That finance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about meaning, behavior, and trust. And that showing up authentically isn’t a risk—it’s a superpower."
