Budgeting Investing Outside of Retirement Purchase a Home

I’ve spent my working life in the travel and hospitality sector, building a successful career with renowned companies such as Disney, Delta Airlines, and IHG Hotels & Resorts. This stoked my passion for exploration and I am grateful to have enjoyed discovering the world through travel, embracing local cultures, food, and flavors at every stop.

I cherish my well rounded life in Atlanta, GA, where my husband Jon and I raised our now adult sons Nick and Chris and continue to enjoy year round outdoor activities with just enough winter to remind us of our Northeastern roots.

I am committed to environmental stewardship, caring for our precious planet and advocating for its people in a way that makes a difference.

What is a social cause you feel passionately about, and why is it meaningful to you? For the past 15 years or so, I have been part of an organization local to Atlanta called The Empty Stocking Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to bringing joy, hope, and opportunity to underprivileged children and families across metro Atlanta. Since its founding in 1927, its mission has evolved from providing holiday toys and gifts for children in need to also supplying essential core school supplies and supporting under-resourced educators. Each holiday season, families are invited to “shop” at Santa’s Village, selecting gifts that empower parents and inspire children. Throughout the year, the Fund equips thousands of students and teachers with much-needed supplies, helping classrooms thrive and children prepare for success. This mission means the world to me and also gets at the heart of why I'm so interested in volunteering for 3rd decade. Families shouldn't have to worry about whether or not they can buy school supplies or gifts for their children.
What is a book or film that changed your life? I am an avid reader and would say that every book leaves a little something of an impact so its hard to pick one book that had such a dramatic impact as to have "changed my life". While I mostly read fiction, I did read a non fiction auto biographical book recently that I really enjoyed because it gave me hope. The book is called A Different Kind of Power by Jacinda Ardern, the former prime minister of New Zealand. It resonated with me for the way that she approached leadership -- emphasizing the importance of empathy and listening and not feeling like you have to be someone other than your authentic self. As a woman in a powerful position who had to overcome much skepticism and doubt, she stuck to her true self and proved that kindness and integrity can win. This gave me hope! And goodness knows we all need some of that these days!
What is a quote you like to live by? "Actually, here's a good one from the book referenced above: ""The difference between what we are and what we could be is the greatest waste"" -- Jacinda Ardern"
