I didn’t truly learn how to manage my finances until graduate school. In college, I lived month-to-month on a stipend and GI Bill support with little long-term planning. That changed when I started using YNAB and manually tracking every transaction. Seeing my behavior in real time forced accountability and helped me shift from reacting to money to using it intentionally.
Today, I’m disciplined but not anxious. I structure my finances around clear goals—retirement planning, major life expenses, and investments—and review my accounts weekly to stay aligned. My primary financial objective is early retirement by around age 50.
I hold an MBA and work as an operations manager, where I’ve managed P&Ls up to $30M and led multimillion-dollar capital projects. I consider myself an intelligent spender, own a rental property, do my own taxes, and have self-taught knowledge across investing vehicles.
As a mentor, I enjoy helping people—especially younger adults—set meaningful financial goals and understand the reasoning behind decisions. I’m educational, data-driven, and non-judgmental. Outside of work, I love learning, travel, and connecting with diverse people. I grew up in a military family, and my long-term goal is to retire early and move to Brazil with my wife.
