Webinar: Having Tough Conversations with Aging Parents

Talking to your parents about money, aging, and future care can feel uncomfortable, but avoiding the conversation can lead to confusion, stress, and difficult decisions down the road. This webinar is designed to help you approach these important discussions with confidence, empathy, and a clear sense of purpose.

We’ll explore why these conversations matter, how to recognize early signs of financial or cognitive challenges, and when the right time might be to start talking. You’ll learn practical strategies to open the dialogue in a way that builds trust along with real-life examples of what to say and how to respond if your parents are hesitant or resistant.

Beyond starting the conversation, we’ll also cover how to think through your own role: what kind of support you’re willing (and able) to provide, how to set healthy boundaries, and how to align expectations with siblings or other family members.

We’ll walk through the key elements of understanding your parents’ financial picture—from income and assets to healthcare costs and long-term care planning—and explore creative solutions if there are gaps, including housing, income, and expense strategies.

Whether your parents are already retired or just a few years away, this session will give you the tools to reduce uncertainty, strengthen communication, and plan ahead.
